Patrick Hastings - Assisting Priest
Patrick trained for the ministry under the Southern Dioceses Ministerial Training Scheme, ordained Deacon in Chichester in 1986, and ordained Priest in Guildford in 1987. He served as a College Chaplain/ Counsellor in Chichester and Weybridge, and then moved to parish ministry in Salisbury Diocese, where he also tutored on Diocesan Training Courses, until his retirement in 2009. Patrick spent several years in banking and in teaching, and immediately prior to entering the ministry was a College Lecturer. On his retirement he moved to North Wales where he assisted in the Diocese of St Asaph for eight years. Patrick is married to Valerie, a former Primary School teacher. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in March 2017. They have a son, Richard, and a daughter, Caroline, and six grandchildren. Patrick and Valerie like dancing, walking, reading, crosswords – keeping physically and mentally active!
